Canis Ferox was founded with the purpose of continuing the preservation of traits exhibited by the best well-rounded breed of dog — the German Shepherd. We carefully select from the best lines to optimize traits of health, function, longevity, and clear headedness. Our top priority is to maintain the GSD as the ultimate dog that can do it all!
Canis Ferox was found by Dan. He has over 15+ years of experience with assessing, training, procuring, and breeding of dogs. After rescuing his first GSD, he fell in love with the breed and was set on a path he hadn’t expected. Meeting and learning from many well-known top tier handlers, trainers, and breeders, he realized that he had found a new passion with working dogs. He continued to train and rehabilitate hundreds of pet dogs for years while working in the industry and learning from leaders in the field. He obtained vast experience across multiple disciplines, including field retrievers, service, detection/scent work, and protection/apprehension.
Dan also acquired a great deal of knowledge regarding bloodlines from different regions of Europe during the course of the GSD’s history. This has informed his knowledge to successfully and selectively breed dogs for an intended goal. Whether your goal is a loyal family companion or a dual-purpose police K9, you will be in good hands.
